Mudkrabba was created to replace manual, offline, disconnected processes that relied heavily on spreadsheets and paper. Fishermen were logging catches in paper logbooks while out at sea, making it difficult to track data accurately or in real time. The business also had limited visibility over licenses and inventory, often not knowing what stock was coming in until days later when the catch.We developed a digital platform that allows fishermen to log catches directly, streamlining

compliance and reporting while giving head office real-time visibility over inventory and licensing. By connecting operations from sea to shore, the system removes manual processes, improves accuracy and enables better planning for sales, stock and distribution.

The app has a digital logbook for compliance requirements with commercial fishery rules by allowing fishermen to log their time at sea, including when and where they are operating. This creates accurate, real-time records that meet regulatory standards without relying on manual paperwork.

Each user also has a dedicated profile where they can upload and manage license information, along with emergency contact details – ensuring everything is stored securely and easily accessible.

Fishermen can also log all catches directly within the system, including non-crab species for full compliance reporting. When it comes to crabs, each catch is recorded with grading details such as approximate weight and gender, giving head office approximate visibility into what is being caught in real time.

This level of detail allows the business to estimate incoming stock before it arrives, enabling sales and planning orders in advance. By connecting catch data with inventory insights, Mudkrabba not only improves compliance but also supports smarter, more proactive commercial decisions.

Mudkrabba also streamlines the sales and fulfilment process by allowing orders to be created and stock to be assigned based on grade, gender and weight. This ensures accuracy when allocating inventory and matching customer requirements.

As orders are created, inventory is automatically updated, giving real-time visibility into available stock. The system also generates barcodes for each order, enabling items to be scanned, tracked, and managed throughout the packing and shipping process.

The custom web dashboard provides a central hub for managing the entire operation, giving full visibility and control over users, licenses and vessels in one place. Administrators can easily assign and manage licenses, link users to vessels, and ensure all compliance requirements are up to date.

Beyond compliance, the dashboard also manages orders, stock, and inventory in real time, while providing detailed sales reporting and insights. By bringing everything together into one system, it simplifies operations, improves accuracy and gives the business a clear, end-to-end view of their entire workflow.
