What started as a digital companion quickly turned into a massively engaging, community-driven experience. From the beginning, our focus was on simplicity and accessibility but after the first year, Digitally Buzzed had so many more fun ideas we couldn't have come up with. Each year we built on the app to be more interactive and engaging for users to vote for their favourite Laksa dish but the team made it super dynamic allowing the user to be notified when they are walking past a Laksa venue they haven't tried, rating their dishes and leaving notes. When it came to voting, they created us a custom web portal that connected to the app so we could see peoples votes and leaderboards in real time as well as app analytics. The first year we had 2000 downloads and after the 4th year had 18000 users for this one festival. We made lots of changes right up until the wire and the team worked (loiterally) day and night to launch this app on time, they never wavered and just kept working really hard to ensure our app was delivered on time and ready. Even throughout the festival they were such a great support.
