We created an immersive web-based virtual tour for Government House in the Northern Territory, making this iconic location accessible to a wider audience from anywhere. Designed to run directly in a web browser, the experience requires no downloads – allowing users to step inside and explore with ease.

The tour guides users through key areas of the property using interactive navigation, 360-degree views, and engaging points of interest. As users move through the space, they can discover historical insights, architectural details and important stories tied to each location by tapping on the information icons.

This digital experience opens up Government House in a way that traditional tours cannot—providing an accessible, informative, and interactive journey that can be experienced at any time. It’s an ideal solution for education, tourism and public engagement, bringing heritage, storytelling and play together in one seamless experience.

Throughout the virtual tour, we introduced interactive hotspots designed to give users control over how they explore the experience. Using clear visual icons placed within the environment, users can click on points of interest to uncover additional layers of information tailored to what they’re most curious about.

Each hotspot is enhanced with subtle sound cues, drawing attention and prompting interaction without disrupting the flow of the tour. Once activated, users can access a range of content – including text, imagery and video, allowing them to dive deeper into specific topics, stories, or features within the space.

This approach keeps the experience clean and uncluttered, while still offering rich, on-demand content. Users can choose what to engage with, creating a personalised journey that balances exploration, learning, and interactivity.

The experience is designed to give users complete freedom to explore in a fully immersive 360-degree environment. Whether on a desktop, mobile device or VR headset, users can look around naturally and move through the space at their own pace – creating the feeling of truly being there.

As they navigate, the environment reveals more than just visual detail. Hidden games, interactive challenges, and “treasures” are placed throughout the experience, encouraging users to explore more deeply and rewarding curiosity along the way.
